Cafe Mam Coffee Tasting and Presentation
On Monday, May 19th, the Coos Head Food Co-op and Café Mam invite you to the Myrtlewood Room in the Coos Bay Public Library for a free presentation and coffee tasting from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
In celebration of their 35th anniversary, Megan Bassett, community liaison for Café Mam, will show a film about Fair Trade, share messages and a sampling of coffee from their partners in Chiapas, Mexico.

Community Cooking with the Co-op
This month Coos Head Food Co-op’s produce manager Marlow teaches how to make vegan scallops using trumpet mushrooms. Free ingredient vouchers will be available for pick up at the register one week before the date of the class. Participants can register for the class on the Coos Bay Library’s website. Earth Day at John Topits Park
It’s Earth Month once again! To celebrate, join us at John Topits Park for a Stewardship and Education Event. This event will feature opportunities to pull invasive plant species, plant native plants, and engage in educational activities with several community partners including Coos Watershed, The South Slough Reserve, The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians, The Coquille Tribe, SWOCC, The Beet, and others! Reusable Produce Bag Drive
In honor of Earth Month, Coos Head Food Co-op is looking for community members interested in sewing and donating reusable produce bags. These handcrafted, one-of-a-kind bags will be available to shoppers for free as an alternative to plastic bags. If you like to sew and are interested in helping us reduce plastic waste, consider sewing a bag (or three)! Reusable produce bags require rudimentary sewing skills and can be made out of scrap fabric for free. Bags can be dropped off anytime. Reach out with an questions!

Yes! Bakery In-Store
Yes! Bakery is an allergen-free bakery from Ashland. They are 100% free of corn, dairy, eggs, gums, nuts, soy, and trans-fats. And, they’ll be here at Coos Head Food Co-op on Friday, January 3rd from 12:30 - 3:30pm demoing their products and answering all of your questions. Be sure to stop in!
